Born from one family’s rhesus tragedy, Rhesus Aid Foundation has grown into a movement of educators, nurses and volunteers protecting mothers and babies across Nigeria.
Our Story
It started with one silent loss
In 2017, our founder Emeka Nwachukwu lost his second child to rhesus incompatibility — a condition that is entirely preventable, yet almost no one had told his wife what her Rhesus-negative status meant.
That grief became a promise. Today, Rhesus Aid Foundation runs community-wide rhesus awareness, screens mothers from Lagos to Kano, and provides Anti-D Immunoglobulin Prophylaxis injections completely FREE. We are proof that one family’s pain, channeled with love, can protect a nation’s babies.

Nine years, one heartbeat
2017
A Promise Made
After losing a child to rhesus incompatibility, our founder registers Rhesus Aid Foundation in Lagos with 12 volunteers and one mission: tell every mother what we were never told.
2019
First Screening Outreach
Our first “Know Your Rhesus” campaign rolls out at UNILAG, screening 2,100 students and young mothers in a single day.
2021
Free Anti-D Launches
With partner hospitals and donor support, we begin providing Anti-D Immunoglobulin Prophylaxis injections completely free to Rhesus-negative pregnant women.
2023
The Mothers Registry
We launch West Africa’s first volunteer registry of Rhesus-negative mothers — 4,100 enrolled in year one, each tracked through to a safe delivery.
2026
14 States & Counting
From Lagos to Kano, our network now spans 14 states with 2,800 active volunteers and 45,000+ people screened for their rhesus status.
